Kia Unveils Superman-Themed Optima Hybrid!
The Superman Optima Hybrid joins a Kia-fied Justice League consisting of the Batman Optima, Aquaman Rio hatch, Cyborg Forte hatch, Flash Forte Koup, and the Green Lantern Soul. The teaser of the Superman Optima Hybrid shows Kia’s stylish four-door wearing Superman’s signature blue, red, and yellow, with a proud Superman shield painted on the hood. Other Man of Steel touches include a custom grille with Superman’s shield, red accents, and red-tinted headlights.
While some may feel the Justice League Kias are getting a bit played out, they all benefit a good cause – each custom Kia is built in support of DC Entertainment’s “We Can Be Heroes” charity, which helps families affect by drought and famine in the Horn of Africa.
The Kia Superman Optima Hybrid will debut on February 7 at the Chicago auto show.

Kia Picanto Named Most Reliable Car On The Road
The Vauxhall Agila is the second most reliable, with the Honda HR-V and Suzuki Alto joint third most reliable. The least reliable models were both Suzukis - the Jimny and the Wagon R
That's according to data published by MoneySupermarket in conjunction with Warranty Direct. The data has been gathered from 50,000 Warrant Direct policies.
The team came to their conclusions by taking overall reliability into account (the car's frequency of mechanical issues, for instance) alongside the average cost of repairs for manufacturers and their models to produce an overall Reliability Index (RI) score.
The results have been broken down by car make and individual models to produce a definitive reliability list. The average RI is 100 - the lower the RI the more reliable the vehicle.
The Kia Picanto scored an incredible RI figure of 3.00/100. The Agila scored 5.00 with the HR-V and Alto scoring an RI of 6.00.
The fifth-placed Ford Fiesta had an RI score of 13.00. The Toyota Corolla scored 14.00, the Suzuki Ignis 15.00, the Volvo S40 16.00 and the Honda Jazz 18.00. Finishing the top ten is the Mazda2, which had an RI score of 19.00.
Despite the impressive showing from the Picanto, Kia only came fifth in the manufacturer reliability chart, with an RI score of 59.75.
The Japanese trio of Honda, Suzuki and Toyota were named the top three most reliable manufacturers respectively. Ford was named fourth most reliable.
Ford's cars, though, are the cheapest to repair according to the survey. The average cost to repair a Ford is £223.92. Suzukis are next, costing £234.96 on average to repair with third-placed Peugeot's average £251.57.
The Kia Picanto is one of the most popular small hatchbacks on the market, and is currently available from £7,795.
Kia released a new Kia Picanto City trim last October, and forms part of the manufacturer's 'Originals' three-door collection. Priced at £10,245, the car comes with a number of functional and fashionable additions.
The Kia Picanto City is available with 14-inch alloy wheels, chrome door handles, heated door mirrors and front fog lights. The City features a three-cylinder Kappa 1.0 MPI engine, with a five-speed manual gearbox.
The 'City' produces just 99g/km of CO2 and delivers 67.3 mpg on the combined cycle, which can provide motorists phenomenal savings on road tax and the London Congestion Charge.
Motorists can also save with MoneySupermarket breakdown cover options.

Kia Defines What it is to be a Modern Man

Get to Know the Brand New 2014 Kia Forte!
The 2014 Kia Forte continues the wave of modernization of the Kia range, but the new line is only the beginning. In fact, the 2014 Kia Forte is a brand new car! The Kia Forte sedan 2014 will be on sale somewhere in the first third of 2013. The two-door coupe and five-door hatchback will join the range later in the year.
Like its cousin, the Hyundai Elantra, Forte longer, lower and wider shows a wedge shape and a roofline shape of a drop of water, but the Kia is more aggressive grille with its "tiger nose." The style reflects that of the subcompact Kia Rio. The daytime LED Forte EX will be his trademark.
The cockpit is driver focused on the central block with its slightly directed towards it, even if the passenger can easily reach. The quality of materials seemed of good quality in the prototype seen at the Auto Show in Los Angeles in 2012, thus avoiding hard plastics often found in economy cars. 2014 Forte offers more space than the model it replaces, both inside and in the trunk, although grownups should pay attention to their head back.
Forte LX hidden under the hood a 1.8-liter engine with 148 horsepower mated to a six-speed manual. A six-speed automatic transmission is optional. With the automatic, an optional "Start / Stop" will be offered. It stops and restarts the engine during certain stops in the city for you to save fuel.
Forte EX comes, she, with a 2.0-liter engine with direct injection 173 horsepower exclusively managed by a six-speed automatic transmission. Alloy wheels of 16 inches are available on the LX and standard on the EX. Unlike the Elantra, it will probably choose the most powerful engine for a strong equipped. We wish we will see the new 2014 Kia Forte in the end of 2013 or by early of 2014.

2012 Kia Sedona Voted Best "For the Family Chauffeur"
The 2012 Kia Sedona makes no bones about the fact that it's a value-focused family hauler. With seating for seven, and 142 cubic feet of total internal cargo space, the Kia Sedona is very much a contender in the minivan sweepstakes. Priced less than $25,000 - yet still competitively equipped in entry-level trim - the Sedona is appealing to families who need to haul everyone around at once, but who don't want to spend big money on a premium van. The Kia's 271 horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 delivers 25-mpg during highway driving, and even the base model Sedona can be equipped with a DVD player for entertaining rear seat passengers on longer trips.

Kia Customer Claims "It's Hip To Be A Square With The Kia Soul"
"I have to say that this little car had some BIG, hip and square surprise in store for me when it arrived. As soon as it pulled up into my driveway I was excited, it looked cool and stylish and the beautiful red color totally caught my eye!
This cute little car is jam packed with fun which with the Kia Soul is what the point is, hip, fun, cool, comfortable and reliable. With a fun and funky exterior this car is eye catching, especially when it is in red like the one they loaned me to review. The bright color with the fun shape is definitely a car that should be on your list if you are looking to show your fun and funky style. If you are looking to show a style all of your own then the Kia Soul will be a car that will stand out to you.
As expected with Kia they did not fall short on the technology and actually had some surprises in store for me in that department too. When rocking out to music in the car the sound was fantastic but at night it was even more fun because there are speaker lights in the door that light up and best thing is you can change them to your favorite color! My kids loved when they were red or purple (it was a tie between which color we all liked best). Stocked with my all favorite technology the back up camera, to having the speakers light up with the music its fun and all my technology needs are met and even exceeded. The Kia Soul has one of my favorite features in a car, the back up camera, which makes it so much easier when backing up and making sure you dont hit anything and there is no one in your way.
The navigation system is super easy to use. Just put in your destination and you are good to go. This came in handy when I was house hunting and never once did I get lost with this system!
The sunroof is a great feature that adds fun and style to the car. When driving down the road with the sunroof open and the music going is a great way to relax and enjoy the drive.
The gas mileage was awesome, I drove a lot with this car and did all my weekly driving around plus driving to look at houses for moving (which was a 45 minute drive each way) and didnt even use a full tank of gas the whole week! My van I normally fill up at least once a week if not twice so that was a big plus for me.
As many of you know I challenged myself to see if I could fit all 3 of my kids car seats in the back seat (a britax marathon, a Britax frontier 85 and a Diono) and while I do not want to focus this car as a family friendly car for those of us with lots of kids, I want to show the car seats because it is a PERFECT example of the amount of space this car has. From the outside it does not look like there is going to be much space at all but it was a total shocker to me that I could fit all the car seats in and my kids were comfortable and had plenty of leg room. Even with hubby driving the kids had ample leg room. Hubby took a seat in the back as well and being 5 foot 10 leg room is important to him and he was able to sit comfortably in the back. The trunk space was fantastic, Kia totally has how much space this little car has hidden.
Driving this car was a ton of fun, much more fun then my normal ride of a minivan. I felt like the cool mom driving around in this hip car! This car is great for so many different people and all their needs. From being a car that is sporty for the single person to a family car this Kia Soul has the essentials covered for needs and the fun wants covered too."

Kia Integrates Technology From Google Maps For All Of Your Navigational Needs
Kia Motors America (KMA) today announced it will work with Google to provide content
and search-based solutions enabled by Application Program Interfaces (APIs) for the second-generation of the automaker's innovative UVO eServices telematics system. These new solutions will initially be introduced on the new 2014 Sorento CUV. The immediate integration of Google solutions will utilize Google Maps and Google Places to acquire driving directions and locate Points of Interest
(POIs) in a seamless and organic manner. KMA and Google look forward to continuing to work together to bring innovative navigation solutions to enhance the connected car experience.
Available with the 2014 Sorento CUV, the new Google-powered UVO system will serve Kia owners whether they are in their cars or away from them. Enabled by the Send2Car feature, Kia owners can send a POI or destination to their car directly from the Google Maps via their Smartphone1 UVO app. From within the car, Kia owners will benefit from Google Places, which will provide POI and destination resources such as a dealership location, and Google Maps, which will provide directions to virtually anywhere and everywhere a car can travel."The newest iteration of the UVO platform is a breakthrough as one of the industry's first mobile pure app-based telematics systems, and now with the Google solutions and APIs, we take the platform to yet another level of enhanc
ement for the Kia customer," said Henry Bzeih, head of the connected car program and chief technology strategist, KMA. "Due to the popularity and ease-of-use of Google Maps, owners can remain confident in the technology and information being delivered to them."
UVO continues to offer drivers hands-free mobile phone management capabilities and hands-free control of music from a variety of media sources, including CD, radio, USB, media player, and the Digital Jukebox. With UVO eServices, users will now be able to control the 2014 Sorento's on-board navigation system through voice commands when the vehicle is outfitted with the UVO eServices/navigation package. Also new with UVO eServices is an enhanced telematics suite that offers a number of maintenance and infotainment functions, including 911 Connect, enhanced Roadside Assist2, Automatic Diagnostics, Manual Diagnostics, Scheduled Diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, and eServices Guide, many of which are run through the owner's Smartphone equipped with the UVO eServices app available at no charge3.
Advanced Voice Recognition makes it simple to operate many of UVO eServices functions, including the Sorento's voice activated navigation system. USB connectivity allows users to download music files from a memory stick into the Digital Jukebox. The large eight-inch touch screen is easy to operate and incorporates Sorento's rear camera display4, Infinity®5 Premium Sound System and My POIs (personal Points of Interest via online maps), a feature that makes it easy to customize the owner's most visited locations. UVO eServices is compatible with iPhone®6 at launch and Android® phones are expected to be compatible in the second quarter of 2013.
Key Features of UVO eServices:
eServices Guide: Accessed via the touch-screen or voice command, eServices Guide places a phone call via Bluetooth® hands free connectivity7 to a voice response system that explains UVO eServices to the driver in an interactive manner.
Car Care Web: Through the UVO eServices owner's portal, known as "Car Care Web," owners can check vehicle diagnostics, vehicle status, maintenance schedules, driving behavior, and schedule appointments with their preferred or nearby dealer via their home computer or mobile device. Owners also can earn awards for safe and eco-friendly driving viewable on Car Care Web should they rank high enough among their fellow UVO eServices owners.
My POI: Also available to UVO eServices owners is My POI, a feature that allows owners to send a destination from Google Maps through their Smartphone to their UVO eServices vehicle. In the convenience of their home or office, the customer selects a destination from the Web via Google Maps, once the customer's Smartphone receives the destination it will send the destination to the vehicle's navigation system the next time the Smartphone is paired via Bluetooth® wireless technology. In addition, all destinations sent from Google Maps will be copied to the owner's Car Care Web. (My POI is only available with UVO eServices vehicles equipped with navigation).
Vehicle Diagnostics: If UVO's eServices identifies a problem by way of the Automatic Diagnostics function, it will communicate the vehicle's issue(s) and its location to Kia's 24/7 call center or will schedule an appointment online with the nearest Kia dealership upon user request. With Manual Diagnostics, at the owner's preference, UVO eServices can connect the user with Kia's 24/7 call center or schedule an appointment online with the nearest Kia dealership, should an issue be found. Additionally, the user can take advantage of Scheduled Diagnostics from their Smartphone, setting a monthly diagnostic check of the vehicle. Upon completion, any issues found are automatically forwarded to Car Care Web.
911 Connect8: In case of an airbag deployment, the Crash Notification Assist function will alert emergency services. During a 10-second window, the driver has the option to cancel the call, otherwise UVO eServices will dial 9-1-1, read the vehicle's location out loud to the emergency services operator and allow the operator to speak with the vehicle occupants.
Parking Minder: If the driver happens to forget where they parked the car, the Parking Minder function helps find it by sending the location of the vehicle to the driver's phone. If preferred, the owner also can take pictures of the surrounding area for reference, write a reminder note, email his or her location and set an alarm if the car is parked at a meter. To guide the owner back, the UVO eServices Smartphone app will display the owner and the vehicle's locations on a map. Following the introduction of UVO eServices in the Sorento, the system will be offered in other models in the Kia lineup, including the all-new 2014 Forte sedan.
